A1 SEO - A Leading Charity SEO Agency

A1 SEO is an SEO agency that's proven to deliver results. We've helped new eCommerce websites reach £200,000 in weekly sales in less than 6 months, and we've helped financial firms increase their leads by £1.5 million. All of our SEO strategies are designed to help you grow the visibility of your third-sector company.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is all about making sure that your website is set up correctly, has the right charity SEO content, and is linked to the right people. It’s all about ensuring search engines rank your pages higher using organic traffic so that people can find what they’re looking for.

Google, Bing, and other search engines suggest that you use SEO strategies that make it easier for people to find your charity’s site and help you rank higher in search results. That means using the right keywords in your title, meta description, and headline (H1). You should also use helpful internal linking, descriptive URLs that have keywords in them instead of just strings of numbers, and you should use schema markup to make sure the page has the right content for nonprofit organisations.

Outreach & Linkbuilding

The number of domains linking to your charity site is often referred to as one of the most important ranking factors for nonprofits, if not the most important one. We at A1 SEO have built a huge network of legitimate sites that we may reach out to for link building purposes for charities.

If your competitors have a high SERP, then they will be building links at a rapid rate. But building links is a lot of work. Leave the link building expertise to A1 SEO; this is what we do best.

Local SEO Strategy For Charities

Local SEO allows you to draw in customers who are searching for charities and services near them. It focuses on two types of searches: local queries and location queries for UK charities.

Getting a local website to rank is easy with our SEO services. Here at A1 SEO, we use a process we've honed over the last decade. There is no SEO magic involved – just simple tasks. When done correctly, this SEO strategy will help increase your charity site's ranking in local map packs and on location-based keywords.

On-Page SEO for Charities

The term “on-page SEO” refers to the elements that make up a page. Most of the time, you're in complete control of these elements and can change them right away.

Spending more time on on-page optimisation helps search engines like Google determine the relevance of your pages and link your content to the charity keywords that users search for.

Charities SEO Audit Expertise

If you're looking to get a better understanding of where your charity website is in terms of search engine rankings, A1 SEO has got you covered. We've done SEO audits on hundreds of websites over the last five years, and we've found the main issues that need to be addressed.

Our audits look at all aspects of your website, from technical to on-page and off-page link building.

We use a few different tools to figure out where you stand with Google and give you actionable tips and marketing initiatives on how to get your website to rank higher to attract more people.

SEO Consulting & Training

Your team can help your charity website rank higher in search results, but they may not have the expertise. Your internal team can make a big difference with strategic direction, but it's expensive to hire an SEO specialist.

A1 SEO knows that most big charities want to upgrade their employees' online skills, and they only use outside companies for strategic planning. We've worked with some of the biggest in-house marketing departments in the world, like FMCG and B2B, as well as B2C teams.

Technical SEO

When it comes to technical SEO, it's all about making sure your site is optimised for search pages. It's about making sure your site structure and content are as friendly to Google as possible.

On-page SEO is one of those digital marketing strategies that is the foundation for building links and content marketing. Sites that give Google more relevant and valuable information about themselves will rank better. It's like handing your English-speaking professor a 10,000-word dissertation in Spanish –– if the examiner can't read it, it's no use.

Technical SEO delivers and depends on how fast A1 SEO can get started on your website to overcome challenges and increase support. It gives us full control, and link building campaigns can give you almost immediate results. It takes time for Google to re-evaluate the quality of your site, but you should start to achieve an improvement in your rankings after the job is done.

White Label SEO

A1 SEO manages the SEO strategies of some of the UK's biggest digital marketing firms. We understand that client hiring, onboarding, and account management presents challenges. Our short-, medium-, and long-term SEO project options help reduce new client strain.

A1 SEO's white label SEO is focused on link building, which is something most agencies and charities don't have time for or know how to do. We offer technical SEO and on-page search engine optimisation (SEO), keyword research and reporting services for agencies that don't already have an SEO team or are going through staff change.

By outsourcing a large portion of your SEO data strategies, you can grow your charities without having to rush to hire new people. We're always available for calls and face-to-face meetings with the final client or agency.

Once your contract is signed, we will begin our onboarding process. Our onboarding process for any charity organisation kicks off the entire campaign. From here, we will brief in your website's technical, on-page and off-page SEO audit. We will also create your own tailored reporting dashboard so you can have complete oversight of your SEO strategy's performance. At this stage, we also ask you to fill out a couple of forms to help our internal teams put together and assess a strategy for your nonprofit.

Strategy Call

After the onboarding stage, you will already have deliverables being completed against your account, and the clock will be ticking towards increased rankings. By now, our team will have spent a considerable amount of time familiarising themselves with the nonprofits industry. We will reach out to arrange a deep dive call to go through our proposed strategy and gain feedback to allow us to tailor this strategy further to meet your SEO goals. We encourage all of our clients to commit to regular catch-ups on-going, ideally on a bi-weekly basis.

Niche Analysis

Now we can start cooking with gas! Armed with the knowledge gained from the onboarding process and our strategy call, our team of SEO experts will conduct an in-depth niche analysis, covering every topic and sub-topic within your industry. From here, we will create a master database containing each page of your website and what is required to start moving the needle in an extremely granular way. This process takes anywhere from 20 to 500+ hours!

Link Building Strategy

Whilst your granular page-level strategy is being devised, our team of in-house digital PR experts will crawl through your Google Search Console account and Google Analytics to find the biggest opportunities for external links. We look for pages where links will move the needle in a big way, getting you the best possible ROI for your budget. Our team has the ability to deliver scalable off-page SEO strategies from day five!

Technical SEO Sprint

During the niche analysis and early link building stages, our technical SEO team will be in the background working their magic. We benchmark all of our client's websites against a 100+ point checklist and action any anomalies we find. We also do a deep dive within Google Search Console, looking for query gaps, indexing issues, broken average position lines, and much, much more. This is a sprint that is repeated every single month.

SEO Scale Up

The previous steps in our process tend to take 1–3 months. By this point, you will begin to see movement in the SERPs and will have a good idea of how we work and operate. All of the systems we have put in place for your business to date are designed to scale up nicely. At this stage, it is a case of placing an aggressive focus on publishing new and optimising older pieces of content, building links, and keeping on top of the website's technical SEO.

A1 SEO has a wealth of experience in the field of SEO. Our SEO experts are well-versed in the most up-to-date best practices. We have had the privilege of working with some of the most rapidly expanding businesses in highly competitive industries. Our meticulous planning, hard work, and industry-leading knowledge enable us to increase traffic and significantly influence the revenue stream of your business. Our speciality lies in optimising keyword rankings, driving traffic, generating leads, and increasing revenue. Our process-driven SEO strategies consistently yield a measurable return on investment.

How long does SEO take to work?

This depends on many factors, including your company's industry and keyword competition. SEO takes time but should generally yield results in 6–12 months. Results include traffic and lead or conversion increases. Any charity websites investing in SEO should expect to see progress within this timeframe, even if you haven't reached your goal.

How does link building help SEO?

One strategy in SEO is link building, which sends a message to search pages like Google that your website is an authoritative resource. This means that sites with more high-quality backlinks will likely rank higher.

What is on-page optimisation in SEO?

On-page optimisation, also known as on-page SEO, is the process of enhancing a website's search engine rankings through changes made on the page itself. Measures to enhance the meta description and title tags are examples of this.

What does a Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) specialist do?

In order to increase website visits, lead volume, and brand awareness, an SEO expert will optimise each page of a website to ensure relevant search results and invoke a positive user experience. In other words, an SEO specialist is the same as any other marketer, whether they work in digital or traditional media, in that their ultimate goal is to increase revenue for the company.

When a website is tested, analysed, and modified by an SEO specialist to be search engine friendly, it rises in the rankings on major search engines like Google and Bing.

An SEO specialist can do wonders for a business by increasing its website's Google rankings through the use of keyword searches and SEO tools like Google Analytics. Some may also collaborate with other members of a marketing team to make new initiatives or improve the management of social media accounts in an effort to increase user engagement and website traffic.

What services does A1 SEO Offer?

A1 SEO offers scalable SEO services, focusing on link building, content optimisation, technical SEO, local SEO, SEO consulting, and SEO training.

Do you specialise in any particular sectors?

Simply put, no, we do not specialise in any sector. That being said, the majority of our business is in eCommerce SEO, where businesses are selling directly through a website. We have helped build dozens of high 6- and 7-figure lead generation businesses as well as small local businesses.

Why do I need A1 SEO when I can hire a specialist in-house?

At some point, it may be better to hire someone in-house, but in our experience, that only happens when your annual SEO costs are more than £70,000.

Using a third-party agency has a lot of benefits, like having a team of experts who are up-to-date on digital marketing and the latest trends and developments in search technology, instead of just one person trying to keep up with everything. Also, one person in your employment gets called into meetings, can call in sick, and needs at least a month off every year. This may leave you without an SEO expert at crucial times.

With A1 SEO, you get a group of people, not just one. You gain experience in many different fields, not just your own, and, as we invest in training and development, you get better employees who bring more value to your business more often.

Not only do we take away the risk of hiring the wrong person, but we are also likely to be much cheaper, and, most importantly, you can trust us as an agency. Trust, Loyalty, and Collaboration (TLC) are the core of how we do business, and the success of our customers is always our top priority.

Why is it so important for SEO to have a content strategy?

Because people always have questions. They type them into search engines and hope to find what they are looking for. Only if the search engines can find the right answer can that happen. We help you come up with the best answers.

The best content strategies are those that focus on getting you seen in the searches that bring the best customers to your website. It's not about being popular or following the latest trend. Instead, it's about being relevant, easy to reach, and there when potential supporters need you.

The good news is that we've been working on content strategies since long before they became trendy, so we know what it takes to get your website to rank.

Do you offer quick fixes and "black hat" SEO?

Never. When it comes to digital marketing, search engine optimisation, content creation, reputation management, and link building, we always use ethical and "white hat" methods. Quick fixes and fake boosts are just a waste of time, and we don't do them.

You can be "number one" for a keyword in a few weeks, but if it is a very popular keyword, the only way to do this is to trick the search engines. Some companies think this is a good solution, but the Search Engines always figure it out and punish the site. It's short-sighted and doesn't work, so we don't do it.

How much do you charge for your services?

Starting at £1,200+VAT per month, we offer a range of SEO services. We have a variety of packages that will work for most growing businesses, depending on their needs. Get a quote from us and a free review of your website by contacting us directly.

Who is A1 SEO owned by?

A1 SEO is an independent family-run business.  We are a limited company. Registration number is SC699214.

Why should I work with an SEO agency like A1 SEO instead of an agency that does everything?

There are a lot of agencies out there that say they offer "full service" and can do everything. From what we've seen, this is almost never the case. Most of the time, they will be good at some things, like social media and working with Google Ad Grants, but not so good at other things. They will say they can do all services, but they will outsource some of them without you knowing. We're different because we only offer and specialise in SEO.

How long are your contracts?

We offer monthly rolling contracts with a 6-week cancellation policy. We don't tie you into 12- or even 6-month contracts as we are that confident in our abilities as a charity SEO agency.
